New workplace manslaughter charges mean jail and fines

Under new Victorian OHS law introduced on 1 July 2020, workplace deaths can now result in serious manslaughter charges.
Shock

Shock is the body’s response to stress. The stress can be relatively minor - like a cut finger, fear or fright - or it may be life threatening, like major blood loss, extensive burns or serious dehydration causing severe shock.
Head injury

A head injury doesn’t always present as an open wound. A force to the head can cause a concussion, with symptoms being loss of consciousness or responsiveness, lack of balance or coordination, drowsiness, dizziness or confusion, blurred vision, headache, seizure, nausea or amnesia.
